Singing plants

Hey fellas,

For Times Square Electronic Garden class I am trying to get responses from plants. The idea is to have an installation that brings back nature to Times Square and that stimulates human interaction with plants in a fun and positive way.

We are experimenting with a custom capacitive touch sensor, Arduino and Processing. We are using the Touché Shield for Arduino developed by Disney Research Labs, that allows us to, by sticking just a single wire in the soil, get different outputs. With that, the plant is turned into a fully functional multi-gestural singing theremin, inducing bond between human and flora.
